Patrice DeHaven is the founder, President and owner of Carried Away Gift Expression, Inc. Originally from Maryland, Patrice had nearly 2 decades experience in the dental field before establishing Carried Away. As she gained experience in dentistry, she was continually drawn to the business aspects of the field focusing on marketing the various practices in which she worked. She found a unique niche as she was growing revenues and reducing debt ratios for her clients. As her entrepreneurial spirit grew, she began to tap into her inherited creative juices and after a few business seminars, the Carried Away “gift expression” concept was conceived in Southern California. Since its inception, Carried Away has developed a unique clientele to include Warner Bros. Studios, Universal Studios, the KFC (i.e., Kentucky Fried Chicken) franchise, various corporate leaders to include Micro Computer Corp of Southern California and AOL/Time-Warner, various Real Estate companies, among others…there were even a few “expressions” prepared for several celebrities including movie stars such as Chuck Norris. Carried Away moved its home base to Northern Virginia in the late 90’s which was perfect timing to synchronize with the tremendous growth across Loudoun County and surrounding areas. The company now had strong roots in two very large metropolitan strongholds with the internet offering a global market.
Carried Away is not just a “basket” company, they pride themselves on being a partner with their clients in building uniquely tailored “gift expressions” to meet the specific needs of their customers. Being a good listener - paying attention to details and the specific desires of the client - has been the cornerstone of the numerous awards Carried Away has received over the years. Carried Away offers a wide range of products to suit any need and as alluded to earlier, goes well beyond baskets traveling down unique gift avenues from Baby to Bereavement and everything in between. We pride ourselves on being a bit different offering a path less traveled to our clients – we like to think we give “presence” to your “presents.” Our ideas are endless.
Patrice DeHaven is the founder, sole proprietor and President of the Carried Away Gift Expression Company. She has been married to her husband Joseph for 38 years. They have 2 children, Justin and Nicole. Patrice loves crabs, the color purple, kayaking and of course crafts. She serves on many committees, a speaker, a Girl Scout leader and is an active member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Sterling, VA supporting many of the church missions from preparing backpacks in the “Buddy Backpack Program” to “Lunch for the Soul” to assist the less fortunate in our community.
